Mi Light Motion Sensor

Qingping CGPR1 combines a passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor and an ambient-light sensor in one compact, battery-powered device. It is designed for occupancy-aware smart-home automations such as switching lights based on motion and room brightness, turning devices off after a space is vacated, or generating entry notifications.

The sensor detects movement using PIR sensing and measures ambient illuminance from 0 to 83,000 lux. Its motion-detection range reaches up to 7 m. Because the same device reports both motion and light level, automations can use both conditions—for example, turning on a light only when motion is detected and the room is dark.

The sensor body mounts on an adjustable magnetic base, allowing the sensing direction to be aimed toward the required area. It is intended for indoor use; the specified operating environment is -10 to 45°C and 0 to 90% relative humidity.

The CGPR1 M Version uses Bluetooth and supports Mi Home / Xiaomi Home. Qingping states that Mi Home support is available on the Chinese mainland, EU, UK and Russia servers. For remote access, history and automations with other Mi Home devices, a compatible Mi Home Bluetooth gateway is required and should be within Bluetooth range of the sensor.

This gateway requirement is important: the sensor itself is a low-power Bluetooth accessory rather than a Wi-Fi device. A compatible gateway, such as Qingping Bluetooth Gateway or another Mi Home device with Bluetooth gateway capability, provides the network bridge used for remote functions.

Power is supplied by two CR2450 button cells. The sensor body measures about 38 × 38 × 35.9 mm, with a 36 × 36 × 13.7 mm base. The compact magnetic mounting system supports flexible placement on a wall, ceiling, desk or suitable metal surface while allowing the detection direction to be adjusted.
